As anti-Muslim hate continues to rise across several Western countries, a new wave of fake videos mocking Islam has spread online, amassing thousands of views and circulating across social media platforms.

AI-Generated Videos Allegedly Show Mosque Speaker Hacks

Misbar’s investigative team has been actively monitoring Islamophobic content targeting Muslims, particularly from far-right groups in Europe. Most recently, Misbar's team tracked a wave of videos circulating on TikTok, X, and Facebook that claim to show mosque loudspeakers being hacked to play music instead of the Adhan, the Islamic call to prayer.

A TikTok user operating under the username “@ai_guru_19” shared several clips that attracted thousands of views. The videos, which follow the same theme, show mosque loudspeakers playing music and mock the Muslim call to prayer.

The first clip was shared with the caption, “Ok who hacked the mosque speaker in the Middle East.” In the background audio, Arabic speakers can be heard asking for the music to be turned off after the speakers were allegedly hacked.

The same user also shared another video, which amassed high engagement, claiming it shows Muslims expressing anger after hearing music played through mosque loudspeakers. The post appeared with a similar caption, reading, “Hacked the mosque in the Middle East! This is gold!!”

The same page also circulated another video claiming to show music playing through mosque loudspeakers and Muslims reacting with discomfort. The caption on the footage read, “Raw footage someone hacked the speakers!”

Another clip shows men wearing traditional Arab clothing and keffiyehs in the United States reacting to music played through mosque loudspeakers. The creator captioned the footage: “Ok who hacked the speaker, if it’s you put it in the comments.”

The user also shared another video with the same theme, captioned: “Another way to run them out of New York… Hack the speaker.”

Shortly after circulating on TikTok, the same videos spread to X and Facebook. Betar Worldwide, the page of the Zionist movement founded by Ze’ev Jabotinsky, shared one of the clips with the caption: “Mosque speakers hacked! What song would you prefer?” Another user later reposted the same footage with an identical caption.

The video also appeared on Facebook with similarly mocking language. Additional clips from the original creator, on alleged mosque speaker “hacks,” were shared on X, where some users viewed the content as “funny.”

OpenAI’s Sora Fuels Spread of Misinformation

Misbar’s team found that all the videos claiming to show mosque loudspeakers being hacked were created using Sora, a text-to-video model and social media application developed by OpenAI. The model's watermark is visible in all of the shared videos.

Sora gained popularity by offering users an easy way to generate highly realistic AI videos, including deepfake-style content. Users can create a 10-second video within minutes by entering a short text prompt and then share it directly on Sora’s TikTok-style platform or export it to other social media networks.

The Sora application allows users to generate nearly any type of video imaginable. It also enables users to upload their own photos, allowing their voice and likeness to appear in fabricated scenarios. The platform can be customized to include fictional characters, company logos, and even deceased celebrities.

Walt Disney recently announced a $1 billion equity investment in OpenAI, allowing Sora to incorporate Disney-owned characters. Under a three-year licensing agreement, Sora users can generate short, prompt-driven videos featuring more than 200 characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars.

Sharp Rise in Mosque Attacks and Islamophobic Hate in the U.K.

The British Muslim Trust (BMT) reports a sharp rise in mosque attacks and Islamophobic incidents across the U.K. over the summer months in its November-released report, “A Summer of Division.”

Between July and October, BMT verified at least 27 mosque attacks, with incidents increasing from just one in July to seven in August and nine each in September and October.

The report highlights a shift from isolated vandalism to more organized acts of symbolic intimidation and violence, including smashed windows, graffiti, hate symbols, and an arson attack in East Sussex.

BMT warns that this growing anti-Muslim hostility demands urgent action, urging authorities to enhance security measures, accelerate official responses, and strengthen efforts to promote community cohesion.
