Controversial AI-Generated Images of Jeffrey Epstein in Tel Aviv Spark Global Reaction
Following renewed interest in the case of American businessman Jeffrey Epstein, convicted of sex trafficking minors, a series of images claiming to show him in Tel Aviv recently circulated on social media, attracting wide attention and significant user engagement.
In this report, Misbar’s team at Al-Araby TV examines the spread of these claims by analyzing engagement patterns across digital platforms, identifying the key accounts that promoted them, and reviewing and debunking the circulated images to uncover the structure of the digital campaign and the context of its dissemination.
Peak Online Activity Surrounding Claims That Epstein Is Alive
Online engagement with claims that Jeffrey Epstein is still alive surged globally, peaking on February 6, coinciding with the widespread circulation of claims that he appeared in Tel Aviv. Engagement began to decline in the days that followed.
Social media accounts continued to amplify the claims, with analysis showing that roughly 224,000 accounts shared nearly 400,000 posts over a span of just a few days.

Top Characteristics of Accounts Circulating Claims of Epstein in Tel Aviv
The analysis shows a notable concentration of accounts displaying symbols and logos associated with U.S. right-wing movements, including the American flag 🇺🇸, the cross ✝️, and slogans such as “MAGA” and “America First.”
Accounts supportive of the Palestinian cause also circulated the claims, with some linking Epstein to the Israeli Mossad and alleging he was an agent—a claim not verified by credible evidence.
The analysis indicates that English dominated engagement, followed by Spanish, Turkish, and French at lower levels.
Most accounts sharing the claims were based in the United States (69%), followed by the United Kingdom (6%) and Canada. Keyword analysis found “Epstein,” “Israel,” “Tel Aviv,” and “Still alive” among the most frequently used terms during the monitored period.
The analysis further revealed a large number of low-follower accounts, with more than 50,000 participants having fewer than 100 followers each. Review of account characteristics showed recurring patterns, including recently created accounts, lack of clear identity indicators, and intensive activity focused on resharing and repeated replies to amplify reach.
AI-Generated Images Do Not Show Epstein in Tel Aviv
Social media accounts in multiple languages, including Arabic and English, circulated images claiming to show Jeffrey Epstein walking the streets of Tel Aviv recently, suggesting that he is still alive.
However, Misbar’s investigation found that the images were AI-generated. The original version included a watermark from the “Nano Banana” AI model by Gemini, a tool used to create images from text prompts, indicating that the images are not authentic.
The full version of the image was first published on Reddit on February 1, before being recirculated on other platforms after cropping to remove the watermark and give the claim a more credible appearance.
Analysis using Hive Moderation, a tool specialized in detecting AI-generated content, determined that the image is 99.9% likely to contain AI-generated elements.
Social media accounts also circulated a video containing two additional images, claiming they showed Jeffrey Epstein and promoting a conspiracy theory that he did not die and is reportedly in Tel Aviv.

Reverse image searches showed that both images were posted on the same Reddit account on February 1 and contained the “Nano Banana” AI model watermark, confirming they were AI-generated.
Review of the account that posted all three images indicates it specializes in sharing AI-generated images with a humorous and entertaining focus.

Key Accounts Driving Claims of Epstein in Tel Aviv
Analysis of the accounts most engaged with the claims by Misbar identified several that amplified the allegation by sharing misleading images and content, generating significant engagement across platforms. The account Sr Peters, an anonymous user reportedly based in Europe, shared two images claiming to show Epstein in Tel Aviv, which together received over 8.6 million views.
Verification showed that both images were fabricated. The first image originally depicted Jeffrey Epstein in 2015 and was not recent, contrary to the account’s claim. In the original photo, Epstein appears clean-shaven with short hair, accompanied by an unidentified woman in New York City on May 5, 2015.
The second image was manipulated from a still posted on IMDb for the 2020 Netflix documentary Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich, indicating it is an archival shot and not a recent depiction of Epstein.
The account Luz de Otoño, an anonymous Spanish-language user, also circulated the same claims in Spanish, attracting wide engagement.
Similarly, the account jvnior, also anonymous, repeatedly posted claims about Epstein’s life and alleged presence in Tel Aviv, which drew significant interaction.
In conclusion, analysis of engagement patterns and technical examination of the images shows that the claim relies on AI-generated content amplified by networks of active accounts. This reflects a recurring pattern of disinformation campaigns using AI tools to promote unreliable narratives on digital platforms.
Jeffrey Epstein Case
The case of American billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, convicted of sexual crimes against minors, sparked global controversy and prompted judicial investigations as well as the resignations of several officials. Epstein was accused of running an extensive sexual exploitation network targeting underage girls, some as young as 14.
He was arrested multiple times on these charges before being found dead in his jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial, according to The Economic Times.
Claims about Epstein periodically resurface on digital platforms, bringing his case back into public discussion. His story is often revived in conspiracy narratives suggesting he survived or continues to operate in secret, despite U.S. authorities confirming his death while in custody.
