Satellite Images Show Construction of Earthen Berms Along Gaza’s Yellow Line
Amid ongoing developments on the ground in the Gaza Strip, recent satellite images show engineering activity along the so-called “Yellow Line,” the boundary behind which Israeli forces redeployed following the ceasefire agreement.
Analysis of the imagery reviewed by Misbar’s team shows excavation work and the construction of earthen berms in three separate areas of the Strip, running parallel to the route of the Yellow Line.
First Berm Extends From Al-Qarara to Deir Al-Balah
European Sentinel Hub satellite images show construction of an earthen berm between coordinates 31.37666°N, 34.35151°E and 31.40107°N, 34.37586°E.
A review of the image timeline indicates that excavation work began between January 9 and 19.
Measurements from the satellite imagery show the berm stretches roughly 3.62 kilometers, running along the eastern boundary of Al-Qarara toward Deir Al-Balah.
Second Berm Stretches From Netzarim Axis to Shujaiya Neighborhood
In the area stretching from the Netzarim Axis eastward toward the Shujaiya neighborhood, Sentinel Hub satellite images show an earthen berm roughly 6.67 kilometers long. Analysis of the imagery indicates work began on February 13, with a clear path of continuous excavation and ground leveling visible.
Third Berm Spans Northern Gaza
In northern Gaza, satellite images reveal an earthen berm spanning the width of the Strip, roughly 5.4 kilometers long, near Beit Hanoun and Jabalia.
The imagery indicates that excavation work began on December 25, 2025, and was completed by January 19, 2026.

Mapping Gaza’s Earthen Berms Shows Alignment With Yellow Line
Overlaying the earthen berms on a map of the Yellow Line shows that their alignment largely follows the line’s route.
The satellite images do not reveal a direct military purpose for the berms, though their consistent placement along a defined path suggests they are part of planned engineering work.
As of this report, Misbar’s team has identified three earthen berms stretching a combined length of more than 15 kilometers across northern and central Gaza:
First berm: 3.62 km – east of Al-Qarara toward Deir Al-Balah
Second berm: 6.67 km – from the Netzarim Axis toward Shujaiya
Third berm: 5.4 km – spanning northern Gaza near Beit Hanoun and Jabalia
This analysis is limited to excavation work and berm tracks visible in satellite imagery and does not verify the intended purpose of the fortifications.
