On March 27, the International Atomic Energy Agency reported that a yellow cake production plant in Iran was struck, while the Israeli military said it had targeted the central infrastructure of yellow cake production at the Ardakan facility.

Satellite images captured by Airbus on March 28 and released via the Soar platform show the impact of a strike on the facility, destroying two buildings entirely and heavily damaging a third.

Analysis by Washington’s Institute for Science and International Security indicates that one of the destroyed buildings was the main processing unit for yellow cake production.

Yellow cake—uranium oxide powder—is produced through the initial processing of uranium ore and serves as a key component in nuclear fuel production.

The plant, also known as the Shahid Razaei Nejad Complex and inaugurated in April 2013, reportedly has an annual production capacity of up to 60 tons of yellow cake.
