Misbar Tracks Two Pakistani Oil Tankers Crossing Strait of Hormuz After Brief Retreat
Maritime tracking data showed that two Pakistani oil tankers transited the Strait of Hormuz toward the Arabian Gulf hours after reversing course, as recent negotiations between Iran and the United States in Islamabad faltered.
Data from MarineTraffic indicated that the tankers SHALAMAR (IMO: 9336842) and KHAIRPUR (IMO: 9594872) crossed the strait on the evening of April 12, 2026.
According to data monitored by Misbar’s team at Al Araby TV, the vessels used the Iran-designated shipping lane into the Arabian Gulf, passing between Larak and Qeshm islands.

The transit followed the collapse of talks between Tehran and Washington hosted in Islamabad, where control of the Strait of Hormuz was a central issue.
After the talks broke down, U.S. President Donald Trump said American forces would immediately move to impose a blockade on the strait, preventing vessels from entering or exiting. Despite those remarks, subsequent tracking data showed the two Pakistani tankers completing their transit.
