Recent satellite imagery indicates potential damage at an oil storage facility on Iran’s Siri Island. Images captured in mid-April 2026 show signs of a fire at the site, with plumes of smoke rising from the island, located in the central Arabian Gulf.

Images published by Soar show a fire breaking out in an oil storage complex adjacent to the island’s airport, with thick black smoke billowing from the vicinity of the storage tanks.

Changes Detected Within the Facility

As part of its verification process, Misbar relied on exclusive imagery from the Sentinel-2 satellite to document changes at the site. A comparison between images captured on March 16 and others taken in mid-April reveals a clear shift in the condition of the facility.

The March imagery shows six oil storage tanks that appeared structurally intact. In contrast, later visuals indicate that at least three of them sustained partial or total damage.

The reported strike comes in the context of attacks carried out by Israel and the United States on Iran prior to the implementation of a ceasefire agreement, which previously targeted strategic energy infrastructure on both sides of the Arabian Gulf.

Iranian Energy Facilities Targeted

In late March, U.S.-Israeli strikes targeted infrastructure linked to gas facilities in Isfahan and Khorramshahr, following an announcement by Donald Trump postponing attacks on Iranian energy installations at the time.

According to Fars News Agency, the strikes hit a gas administration building on Kaveh Street in Isfahan, as well as a gas pipeline supplying a power generation plant in Khorramshahr. No casualties were reported in either incident.
