Misbar Tracks 15 U.S. Military Cargo Flights to Middle East Within 48 Hours
Flight tracking data from Flightradar24 showed a surge in U.S. military aircraft flying from Europe to the Middle East on May 2.
Amid ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, and stalled diplomatic negotiations, U.S. military airlift activity increased markedly, with most flights involving transport aircraft and aerial refueling tankers.
Misbar’s team on Al Araby TV monitored these movements. This report outlines the key details and related developments.
Surge in Military Aircraft Movements
Flight tracking data indicated that roughly 20 aircraft were in motion, including at least 15 military cargo planes en route to the Middle East. Some of the flights originated in Germany, while at least five aircraft were observed departing the region.
In addition, several transport aircraft were seen leaving the United States, with their final destinations not yet confirmed.
The table below highlights the most notable flights tracked over the past 48 hours.

Military Cargo Aircraft
Flight tracking data showed that most aircraft heading to the region were C-17A Globemaster III military cargo planes, each with a payload capacity of about 77 tons and the ability to carry roughly 100 personnel.
Lockheed C-5M Super Galaxy aircraft were also seen among the movements. The C-5M, the largest transport aircraft in the U.S. Air Force, has a payload capacity of approximately 127 tons.
The buildup follows an announced extension of a ceasefire involving the United States and Israel on one side and Iran on the other, amid stalled negotiations mediated by Pakistan and a failure to reach a permanent agreement to end the conflict.
Iran has submitted a proposal to the United States aimed at restarting talks. The proposal includes three main points: a halt to hostilities in exchange for a commitment not to launch new attacks on Iran, a revision of arrangements related to the Strait of Hormuz, and provisions concerning Iran’s nuclear program.
U.S. President Donald Trump, in contrast, said he was not satisfied with Iran’s latest proposal.
