Palestinian President Didn't Refuse to Answer Trump's Call
Emerging story
A widely-circulated report originally published by Anadolu Agency on January 27 claims that the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas refused to answer a call from US President Donald Trump, the day before he revealed his peace plan. Claims were circulating across the MENA region.

The claim, which was later published by several news networks, indicated that Abbas refused to take Trump’s call after the “Deal of the Century” that was proposed by the United States, which Abbas considered “one-sided."
The US Peace plan, known as the Deal of the Century or the Trump Peace Plan, is a set of political and economic proposals presented on January 28, 2020 by President Donald Trump. It includes an international effort of $50 billion for Palestinian State development. Israel keeps Jerusalem as its indivisible capital, and the Palestinians have theirs on a fraction of East Jerusalem.
