Emerging story

Posts on multiple social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and Whatsapp, claim that the Washington Post has implicated Palestinian Mohammad Dahlan, who serves as senior advisor to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed in Jordan’s failed coup attempt.

The Posts claim that the source is the CIA and that important figures, including Prince Hamzah bin Al Hussein and Dahlan, had participated in it. The coup attempt occurred yesterday against Jordan’s King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein.

The same claim is circulating on Whatsapp in Arabic, translated to “Urgent: Washington Post Mohammad Dahlan was involved in the failed coup attempt in Jordan, along with Prince Hamza and Emirs in the Emirates.”
