Commotion: Family Removed from Spirit Flight

On April 5, 2021, a video surfaced online of a family being told to leave a flight. In the video, a mother, who has a child on her lap, asks the flight attendant why they have to leave. The flight attendant responds, “Non-compliance.” The parents then point out that they are wearing masks. But the attendant states that their child is not complying. However, the child is eating. The parents point out that their child just turned two, making it hard for her to comply. Eventually, the attendant threatens to call the police. The father responds that he is calling his lawyer. 

A range of websites and social media accounts then shared this video online, stating that the family was removed from the flight unfairly. The footage soon gained millions of views.
