A Doctored Video Shows an Anchor Crying for Cristiano Ronaldo

On December 12, Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister Elma Aveiro posted a clip on her Instagram account. 

She claimed that the video depicts an Arab anchor in tears after she saw scenes of Ronaldo crying following his team’s loss against Morocco in a quarter-final match of the World Cup.

“Beautiful image, love, gratitude, value, these are values ​​that not everyone has ... This video is beautiful that I never get tired of watching, and it is not Portuguese. I do not know if I made myself understood. Greater pride, greater human being, great son, brother, father, an example for everyone and everyone,” she wrote in Portuguese.

“Thank you God for giving me as a brother this boy/man that I am so proud of and I love with all my strength. Thank you God, thank you Ronaldo,” she added.

Other users circulated the claim and shared screenshots of the video in question. “This news anchor was Crying for Ronaldo during reporting about Portugal's departure from the World Cup,” a Facebook user wrote.
