A video went viral on X claiming to show a recent protest opposing the Egyptian president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. The video shows a large crowd of protesters tearing up a banner of al-Sisi, which featured his image, the Egyptian flag, and the text: “We are with you, Sisi, for Egypt's sake.” 

Some social media users shared the video in the context of ending dictatorship, implying the fall of the Assad regime in Syria. One X user shared the video saying that the “Year 2024 is the beginning of the end of dictatorship. Massive protests have broken out in the Egyptian capital Cairo as people oppose President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.”
