A video clip widely shared by social media users claims to show a demonstration in Idlib against Syria's new leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa.

MintPress News, which identified itself as an independent watchdog, uploaded the video to X with the caption, “A video circulating shows a demonstration in Idlib where protesters are comparing Al-Julani to Assad. The banner prominently displayed asks,' What's the difference between Al-Jolani and Assad?' suggesting that the demonstrators view them as the same.”
