Iranian General Esmail Qaani Did Not Flee to Israel

Following news in 2024 that Iran's IRGC Quds Force chief, General Esmail Qaani, was under guard and being questioned in Iran, social media posts spread claims that he had been confirmed safe in Israel on April 1, 2025. 

Social media users also posted that the discovery was proof he was an Israeli asset who had been providing information that had led to the murder of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah Secretary Generals Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine.
