The caption on the video claimed that the historic church had been ‘conquered without a single shot’, while other users pointed out to London’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, a Muslim born to a Pakistani family, implying that the church had been taken over by Islamists, amid rising anti-immigrant sentiment in the U.K.

The claims also surfaced after a series of recent controversies involving the British flag, which have fueled broader debates about identity and national symbolism.
