Old Video Misrepresented as Recent Attack on Christmas Decorations in Turkey

Social media users have circulated a clip showing men shouting in front of a security line, while a crowd watches from atop a hill in what appears to be like a demonstration. 

Users who shared the video on December 7, 2025, claimed it depicts Turkish Islamists attacking students who were decorating Christmas trees on Sunday at a university in Istanbul.

“Radical Islamists attacked a group of Christian students decorating Christmas trees at Istanbul University today. ‘Turkey is a Muslim nation - we do NOT celebrate Christmas,’” a user wrote on X.

“Turkey is in the queue of Pakistan, Syria, Yemen and Sudan,” the user added.
