A photo has been circulating on social media in the aftermath of the Bondi stabbing attack, accompanied by claims that it depicts a man having special effects makeup applied before the incident, allegedly suggesting that the attack was staged and the injuries were fabricated.

The image is based on a selfie taken by one of the injured, Arsen Ostrovsky, showing him on the ground with blood streaming from his head.
