Old Video of Man Arrested in Birmingham for Gun Smuggling Resurfaces

Following the Bondi Beach shooting, social media users circulated footage falsely claiming it shows a Pakistani asylum seeker arrested for smuggling guns in Birmingham.

Posts alleged the armed police detained a Muslim man and suggested that an attack like the Bondi Beach attack could easily happen in England.

“Yasir Khan from Birmingham was found to have 72 gun components in the fuel tank & under the bonnet of his car,” a user wrote.

“The same thing that happened in Bondi, Australia could easily happen here. We have people in this country who are armed, dangerous and absolutely despise us,” another user wrote.
