Images Do Not Show Radical Islamists Gathering in Melbourne Following Bondi Shooting

Social media users circulated two images of men praying, claiming they showed “radical Islamists” gathering in Melbourne three days following the Bondi Beach attack.

Users shared these claims alongside calls to deport Muslims from Australia. U.S. conservative activist David J. Harris Jr. amplified the images to his nearly three million followers, posting: “INSANE! Radical Islamists just got together in Melbourne three days after two radicals SHOT & K*LLED 15 people at Bondi Beach in Sydney. We must DEPORT radical Islam RIGHT NOW. Maybe we should stop Australian visas too?!”
