Viral Video of Muslims Calling for Sharia in the U.K. Is Outdated

Social media users have widely circulated footage depicting men shouting “Sharia for UK, Sharia for UK” and claimed it shows recent events in London, alleging that a group of Muslims are demanding and chanting for the implementation of Islamic Sharia law in the United Kingdom.

“WATCH: MUSLIMS CHANT “SHARIA FOR UK” ON BRITISH STREETS. Footage shows Muslims openly chanting “Sharia for UK” in public,” a user wrote.

The user suggests the scene represents “Explicit calls for Islamic law to replace British law” and an “Open rejection of democratic norms and the legal system.”

“Similar chants now appearing across multiple Western countries; Authorities continue to minimise or ignore what’s happening,” the user added.

For the user, the scenes are not a sign of “private belief. “It is political Islam demanding legal power.”

“When calls to replace the law of the land are tolerated, cohesion collapses and trust evaporates. Why are leaders pretending this isn’t a problem?” the user questioned UK leaders’ efforts.

“How Dare these Muslims demand and chant for ‘Sharia for UK’  There is ONE Law in the UK and that is British Common Law. We MUST Never give in to demands for Sharia Law in Britain EVER!” another user wrote.
