The footage does not show a fire in Tel Aviv resulting from Iranian strikes or bombardment, nor is it related to the ongoing war. The Video Was Taken in Syria A reverse image search revealed that the video documents a fire in Syria, specifically in the city of Aleppo. The footage had previously circulated in a different context before being reshared recently with a misleading claim linking it to current events. The search confirmed that the video was posted on April 22 of last year by Omar Sabbagh on TikTok, stating that it shows a massive fire at a fuel station in the town of Al-Bab in eastern rural Aleppo. A review of footage circulated by media outlets, including Alaraby TV, as well as various websites and social media accounts, confirms that the video is indeed from Syria, not Israel. Subsequent media reports stated that the fire broke out following explosions in fuel tanks in eastern Aleppo’s countryside, spreading to nearby homes and warehouses. Civil defense and firefighting teams rushed to the scene to contain the blaze, fearing it would spread to adjacent residential areas. Firefighting efforts lasted several hours before the fire was brought under control. The Regional War in the Middle East The claim circulated amid escalating exchanges of attacks and bombardment between Iran and Israel, as the war entered its 27th day since the joint U.S.-Israeli operation launched on February 28. In recent hours, Iran announced the 82nd wave of “Operation True Promise 4,” part of its ongoing missile barrages targeting Israeli military and industrial sites. In a statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the latest wave targeted sites in Arifjan, Al-Kharj, and a U.S. defense logistics site, in response to an attack on Khorramshahr launched from that location. The statement added that Iranian forces also destroyed a Patriot radar system in Sheikh Isa, a reconnaissance aircraft hangar at the same location, U.S. fuel storage facilities, and a satellite communications dish at Ali Al-Salem.
